Tiger King
In a world taken over by a pandemic, people are, of course, trying to find ways to cope. There are a lot of things to turn to during this time, but among all of these ways to cope, binge watching remains among one of the most popular ways to do so. Currently, the show of choice is Netflix's Tiger King.
Now, I have never watched Tiger King, but I hear or read about it some capacity everyday. I would be lying if I said it didn't peak my interest in the least. Will I ever watch it? Not sure.
It is a 2020 American true crime documentary about Joe Exotic, a zookeeper. Supposedly, it follows the stories of deeply connected and little-known "big cat conservationists" and collectors, and apparently, Exotic is accused if abusing these wild animals. The story takes wild turns for former cocaine drug lords running secret conservation facilities, swingers for sneak into fancy hotels to get the attention of women, and even more. Without listing spoilers, this true story ends up taking twists and turns down paths of murder, disappearances of people, protests and lawsuits.
Netflix's description of the show says "A zoo owner spirals out of control amid a cast of eccentric characters in this true murder-for-hire story from the underworld of cat breeding."
No wonder this show is all the craze. It seems to be taking the edge off of the worries and stresses of the world pandemic. It's enough crazy to distract from real-life stress.
It is currently ranked #1 in the U.S. today, and has already become one of the most-watched original programs in Netflix's history. The series has an approval rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes with an average rating of 7.88/10.

Tiger King has already been watched by 34.3 million people within its first 10 days of release.
Celebrities from Mike Tyson to Shaquille O'Neal were somehow involved in the cases and have spoken out about it as well.

And of course, to no one's surprise, people have taken to Twitter to discuss the ordeal:
Ok this is hilarious. Also credit to the reporter who acknowledged I was joking. Normally they know I’m joking but run with it as though I’m serious. @realDonaldTrump . “Sounds like Don... had to be Don” #TigerKing— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) April 9, 2020

A Tiger King question at the White House.— Yamiche Alcindor (@Yamiche) April 8, 2020
I can't.
Who was the "journalist" who asked that question? That is embarrassing on so many levels. "People are dying & lives are being torn up, by what about Tiger King Mr. President?"— Michael Baxter (@funky5mab) April 8, 2020
