9. Classmate Blog Critique

Lindsey O'Neal's Blog

There is always one blog I go back to looking at in my class whenever I take a peek at my classmates' blogs. Lindsey's blog is definitely one of my favorites from the class. One thing that always sticks out to me is that her personality really shows through her writing style. This is especially true in her more lighthearted topic blog posts. She has the funniest, sweetest personality in person, and you can really see that bleed through the words she writes in her blog posts.

Her blog posts are also really easy and fun to follow. She has a really nice style of formatting her blogs. For instance, she has an intro of text and has a really healthy balance of pictures and graphics. Her imagery really adds to what she is saying and sometimes imagery can tend to do the exact opposite. If used incorrectly, graphics can sometimes take away from what you're trying to say. This isn't true of Lindsey, though. From time to time, she even includes videos and screenshots which even more so add to the experience of reading her blogs. They seem to be really interactive, and they're always super easy to follow.

Let's talk about the design and layout of her blog. She chose a really nice layout. It's super simple, but it works. The very top (what you see when you go to her URL) displays her most recent blogpost. From there, you can scroll down and see the next recent and the next, and so on. There is also a sidebar with links that if clicked on, will take you directly to that blogpost so readers can easily find what they are looking for.
Lindsey also chose a nice font. Her header (with her name) is a fun but very legible. It fits the style of her blog. Her color choices are also nice. She has a pretty blue marbled background and her link colors match that color of the background.

Overall, Lindsey's blogs never disappoints. She has had to have several blogs for her mass media classes, and they are always consistent and good quality. Good job, Lindsey!
